Class Schedule

HSI CPR/AED and First Aid - Adult, Child, and Infant

This course includes CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid for Adults, Children and Infants.

Some additional First Aid topics that may be included are tourniquets, wound packing, splinting, general patient assessment, and more. 

Cost: $95/student

AHA BLS In-Person Course

This course is CPR/AED for the Healthcare provider which is taught using AHA standards for high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants. This is the 4-hour in-person format of this course, which is also offered in a blended format.

HSI Child and Babysitting Safety

This course includes everything teenagers and young adults need to know for safe and successful babysitting. From getting started with their business, to dealing with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips.

Cost: $100/student

HSI Wilderness First Aid

This course includes an in-depth look at the patient assessment, how to be better prepared and respond in a remote outdoor setting with limited resources and longer care times. We discuss the following topics, and more:

Students will recieve both a Wilderness First Aid certification as well as a CPR/AED certification.

BLENDED: Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT)

The Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) training program is a 44 hour course (online and in-person) that covers the basics of emergency medical care. This course provides training in basic life support, such as splinting, bleeding control, CPR/AED, oxygen therapy, and patient assessment as well as patient assisted medication administration. Students will recieve an ETT and a BLS for healthcare providers certificate upon successful completion.

This is only the hands-on portion of the ETT course (16 hours). In order to participate in this course, you must first purchase and complete the online portion through Southeast Region EMS Council.

EMT 1 Bridge Course

EMT 1 Bridge will be offered as a blended course, including some online learning with an in-person hands-on skills and lecture. The cost of this class will include the Premier access to JBLearning site required for this course and the EMT 1 State Written Exam. A paperback version of the book is available for purchase. Please note: You will be required to show proof of a valid ETT certification by the first day of class.

Mandt De-escalation (Relational and Technical)

This course includes the knowledge and techniques to help de-escalate in behavioral interactions that could potentially become agressive. This course includes discussion surrounding inter-personal relationships, how to build and maintain healthy relationships, and how to foster good communication. Included are Chapters 1 through 3 of the Mandt system, as well as Chapters 7 through 9 covering the physical skills, and how to perform them safely. The Relational portion is a blended course with online learning and an in-person test. The Technical portion is completely in-person.

The online Relational portion will be issued via email from the Mandt system. The online training must be completed by computer as the system does not support phone access.

Cost: $230/student, Includes both Relational and Technical 

BLENDED: HSI Bloodborne Pathogens

This course is the blended learning option for HSI's Bloodborne Pathogen course . If you register for this course, you will need to call the office to schedule your in-person skills test after completing the online portion.

Cost: $40/student

BLENDED: HSI CPR/AED Only

This is CPR/AED only, and can vary including Adults only, Infants and Children only, or a combination of the three. 

 

Cost: $75/student

BLENDED: HSI First Aid Only

This is the First Aid Only. Topics include general patient assessment, epi-pen use, and glove removal. Many optional topics may be added to this course for more information.

ONLINE: Asbestos Hazard Awareness

This lesson will help employees increase hazard awareness and assess the risk for operations where there is any potential for exposure to asbestos and the risk of acquiring an asbestos-related disease. However, completing this lesson alone does not meet the intent of applicable regulations nor qualify a worker to collect samples or perform abatement activities..

ONLINE: Back Safety and Injury Prevention

The purpose of this lesson is to address the hazards inherent in compressed gas and provide best practices for using, moving, and storing compressed gas containers..

ONLINE: Confined Spaces

This lesson will present the hazards posed by confined spaces and the difference between a permit required confined space and a non-permit required confined space..

ONLINE: Driver Safety

This lesson will familiarize you with the consequences of making unsafe decisions when driving as well as the safe driving practices and vehicle technologies that will protect you from potential driving incidents and accidents. This lesson is not intended to cover driving requirements associated with commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) or the use of a commercial driver's license (CDL). This lesson does not address safety concerns associated with the use of off-road (ATV) vehicles, motorcycles, towing a trailer, or load securement while hauling equipment such as in the bed of a pickup truck..
